Browser Plug-ins

Basic Security

Browser Plug-Ins are additional pieces of software that add extra capabilities to your web browser, such as the ability to view movies, run Java applets, or see Flash animations. Plug-ins such as Active-X can provide a high-level of security but also can be intrusive and be blocked by the user.

Local Shared Objects (LSO), commonly called flash cookies, are a non-intrusive way to use a browser plug-in to provide a level of security that does not collect any user data but allows our systems to see if that user is attempting to take a survey more than one time.  Using browser plug-ins is a very common practice and is just one of the safety measures WWP has at its disposal in our SurveyDefender™ Respondent Validity Tool Suite.
