While we know that most people try to tell the truth in surveys, we also know that there are questionable respondents who most analysts would not want in one of their studies. These are the respondents who sometimes lie to get an incentive or rush through a survey to make money –unconcerned about the integrity of data they offer.

At WWP we take this issue seriously. Each user has a unique history that is associated with his/her user ID. This history includes data points regarding the authenticity and honesty of a particular user. These data points include certain actions that may affect his/her cheater score,  including whether or not a user ID has been used from one survey more than once (double jeopardy), block groups, new to system, used in prior surveys, and no match. The results of this check are added to his/her profile. Weak scores associated with a user ID based on these data points are flagged as abnormal.

Based on the results of a cheater score, WWP’s proprietary technology can route users appropriately. Users with scores that reflect a high confidence in their legitimacy are able to take a survey. Users with scores that reflect low confidence can be denied access to a survey or are rewarded with voucher incentives and are not utilized in a client’s data.
